In May of 1965 I began practicing law. After 45 years I have decided to end my practice effective December 31, 2010. I have made this decision by reason of my health. I am currently dealing with a rheumatoid condition called polymyalgia. The past year has been one of ups and downs in which I have not been able to work consistently. In fairness to all I am now ready to pass the baton to my associate who has been a great support during all of this. I will become “of counsel” to the firm.
I have asked Lisa Howey Trevor to take over my practice and assist my clients. She has been associated with me for the last four years and I am confident in her professionalism and ability to serve whatever needs you may have. She has possession of all of my files including original will and trust documents. You can reach her at Extension 28. Lisa has closed our office on the second floor of the Glenview State Bank and moved to the third floor.
I thank you for your constant loyalty to me over the last 45 years. I have enjoyed my law practice so much because I have been able to advise and to help each of you in important matters in your lives. It makes me happy to have been of service. If you need to reach me personally please do so. I want to wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Very truly yours,
Per K. Hanson
Per K. Hanson named 2004 Glenview Citizen of the Year!
Per
K. Hanson, the Partner and Founder of our firm, was named the 2004
Glenview Citizen of the Year by the Glenview Chamber of Commerce. His
great accomplishment was celebrated at the 38th Annual Civic Awards
dinner, held at the North Shore Country Club. Beneficiaries of his
legal expertise have included Hands of Peace, a Glenview organization
that brings together Israeli, Palestinian and American teens; the
family of Tyler Smith, who was diagnosed at age 13 with germ cell
cancer; and Thomas Place, which when completed in The Glen next year
will provide many of its 144 apartments to seniors at affordable rents.
As a trustee on the board of Patten House, Glenview's first
rent-subsidized project, Per began talking in 1996 about expanding the
number of such housing units. Hanson served as chairman of a task force
that pursued the Thomas Place project, all the while donating his legal
advice and helping select a financial advisor. A long-time member of
the Glenview-Northbrook Kiwanis Club, Per has read to preschoolers at
the Wesley Child Care Center each week as part of the club's community
service project. "This is a challenging task, as anyone who has
attempted to keep the attention of 12 4-year-olds can testify," said
Ellen Fagerburg, Wesley's executive director. Congratulations, Per, for
your unselfish and dedicated work to the Village of Glenview!
